Is Your Head On Straight?
Chiropractors confront a challenge known as a Vertebral Subluxation,
which prevents you from expressing 100% of your true potential.
The subluxated spine is caused by accidents or injuries that
tear loose the connective tissues that hold the structures
of the spine together. A weakness is created that allows the
spine to break down and lock in a stressed position. Because
there are so many joints in the body, you may only be slightly
limited in movement and sometimes it takes years for the effects
to become severe enough to identify the problem.
Has anyone ever told you that one of your legs is shorter
than the other? When your spine is subluxated, your legs may
give the impression of being different lengths. When you are
standing, this will be revealed as a high or low hip or shoulder,
a leaning of the body to the right or left or a tilting of
the head to one side or the other. This twisting of the body
framework results in an imbalance in the muscles and stress
on the boney structure. The consequential abnormal movement
prompts the progressive wear and tear and, over time, degenerative
change of the spine and surrounding structures.
This break down of the spine and the many other conditions
that result is reason enough to correct the spinal misalignment;
yet the devastating effects caused to the nervous system by
the subluxated spine, which limits life and causes a multitude
of symptoms adds significant urgency to correcting the body
imbalance.
The loss of structural integrity from the misaligned spine
results in distress in the nervous system and may be effecting
the brain, the brain stem, the spinal cord, and/or the peripheral
nerves. The nervous system:
- directs and coordinates every movement we make
- allows us to sense and feel
- controls and regulates all of the other body systems and
processes including circulation, respiration, digestion,
reproduction, etc.
- is the instrument of perception that allows us to relate
to the world outside of ourselves.
This challenge causes pain and suffering and an abundance
of related symptoms that progress and continue to get worse
and accumulate over time. It starts as headaches or back tightness
and pain, then maybe allergies and indigestion, and perhaps
progressing to debilitating pain or loss of sensation in the
limbs.
If you have a subluxated spine, you need to have it corrected
to live a full and pain free life. It does affect your ability
to live, work and play. Don’t wait until you’ve
tried everything else. Make your appointment today, and set
your head on straight! |
